More About Me
A little insight into who I am and what I love.
Hi, I'm Sam!
I’m 25 years old, with aspirations of going to medical school and becoming a physician. My interest in medicine started in high school, when I joined my school’s HOSA program. Admittedly, I joined because I wanted to wear scrubs around campus like I saw some upperclassmen doing. Soon after joining and enrolling in medical terminology, though, I realized I was truly energized by the content of the course and I became genuinely interested in the field of medicine. I went on to continue in this program for the next 3 years of high school, and did my first bit of shadowing during my senior year. My interest in the field only grew. It’s safe to say I never looked back.
University of Florida
Class of 2021
B.S. in Nutritional Sciences
Naturally, I enrolled in undergrad on the pre-medicine track.
My undergraduate experience had its fair share of twists and turns, from excelling my freshman year to overloading my plate trying to keep up with my pre-med peers, burning myself out, transferring universities, you name it…
While it wasn’t always smooth-sailing, I learned so much about myself as a person after facing some of the challenges on this path. With my insight and what I feel is a breadth of knowledge about the many components of the pre-med journey, I hope to share these experiences and help others that may have experienced similar feelings of imposter syndrome, burnout, and exhaustion on this sometimes overwhelming path toward becoming a doctor.
What better way to start on this venture than to share my firsthand experience while studying for what is arguably the most important exam in the pre-med journey?
At this point in time, all of my energy is going into studying for the MCAT and I am sharing my progress and milestones on YouTube. I’ve always loved watching other people’s daily lives through YouTube vlogs, and I decided I wanted to share my pre-med journey online through vlogging and blogging about the ups and downs of this path.
While I continue to learn and grow as a pre-med student, I hope to foster a safe space and collaborative community for fellow pre-meds like myself. I am sharing my favorite resources, helpful tips, and personal challenges that I experience along the way in an effort to do just this.
I am so happy to have you here.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you stay for all that is to come.
